Fairlawn

The City of Fairlawn, Ohio. In 1958, Fairlawn Village became incorporated. By 1970, Fairlawn Village's population increased enough to become incorporated into the City of Fairlawn and development businesses were crucial in drawing families to the area. Today, Fairlawn's "life force" continues to revolve around these same businesses rather than the town square or other landmarks usually concentrated in the heart of the city.

With its excellent school system, the Copley-Fairlawn School District was rated by the Ohio Department of Education as Excellent.

Situated on I-77, Fairlawn is conveniently located and is quite accessible to the resources of surrounding areas. Cleveland is 35 minutes north and downtown Akron, OH is a 10-minute drive to the east. In addition, the Ohio Turnpike (I-80) is just minutes away and local airports (Cleveland and Akron-Canton) are within easy reach.

Approximately 35,000 visitors come to Fairlawn on a daily basis. Several new home communities insure that residential growth in Fairlawn will continue at a rapid pace

Fairlawn, Ohio has 53 acres of parks to enjoy. There are five parks and a community center, with recreation and fitness programs offered throughout the year. Facilities include a reflecting pond, a gazebo, lighted tennis courts, handball courts, miles of hiking trails, basketball courts, playgrounds, pavilions, and many open grassy recreation areas.

Fairlawn offers many annual events, including the Akron Symphony Orchestra performances, fireworks displays, summer concerts in the park, Independence Day parade, and an annual holiday auction.
