City of Cuyahoga Falls, OH

Beautiful Cuyahoga Falls, OH…the place where people from the surrounding areas go for entertainment and fun!

Established in 1812, the city has always been historically known for its lovely “falls” and the Cuyahoga River. Native Americans on their journey from the Great Lakes to the Mississippi River would travel the Cuyahoga River, stop at the falls, and walk the Portage Trail and onward to their destination. This history has laid the plans for its current success as a prosperous city!

Cuyahoga Falls, today, is a wonderful place to call home or visit! With the river at its heart, many festivals are scheduled through the year on what is known as the “Riverfront”, an all brick boardwalk that runs through a street lined with unique stores and restaurants. The Falls River Square district is also the setting for an interactive fountain for Summer fun and an ice skating rink for Winter recreation. A beautiful Amphitheater, visible from nearby State Route 8, is the home of many concerts and ceremonies. In addition, Tour Boat Rides of the River are a daily event.

The Towpath, a biking/hiking trail which stretches from Dover, Ohio to Cleveland, OH also runs through the city’s beautiful natural forests and parks.

Residents find Cuyahoga Falls a wonderful place to raise a family due to its easy accessibility to freeways, Excellent schools, shopping, dining, hospitals and airports. And with the Natatorium and YMCA, and the future “Marketplace at Portage Crossing”, a huge shopping center, its residents never have to leave the city.

Only minutes to Downtown Akron, and close to other towns such as Hudson, Stow, and Canton, Cuyahoga Falls, which is celebrating its Bicentennial in 2012, seems to be the epicenter of everything.
